For Wednesday's #WomenInConstructionWeek spotlight, let's get to know Valerie Harmon. Val is the wonderful office manager in our Colorado office. She has been working with RLW since 2015. Valerie believes that the advantage of being a woman in this industry stems from having to work hard to prove yourself - it pushes you to be your absolute best! She really enjoys the event planning part of her job because she enjoys seeing everyone and everything come together. Val looks up to the women leaders in the construction industry "The women in leadership roles in the industry help pave the way for the rest of us, they’ve proven that our differences can have a great impact. My coworkers not only trust me, but they find value in what I do and are very thankful to me for my contributions to the team". Today's #WomenInConstructionWeek spotlight features Emily Roberts! Emily works with the RLW team for Sterling Infrastructure. She was recently promoted to "Manager of Talent Acquisition" and believes she has a leg up in her job as a woman because she is easy to connect with. She has been with Sterling Infrastructure/RLW for almost 3 years. She loves her job because of the daily interaction she gets to have with all different kinds of people. She says that "every phone call or interview is the chance to change someone's life for the better". As a woman in the construction industry, Emily likes to live by the motto "don't let anyone take away your sparkle", glitter and hard work are a great combo in her opinion! Her advice to women on being successful in this industry is to never lose yourself or change who you are to fit in - put your head down, work hard and show them you are worth the time. #RLWrocks #WIC2024 #WomenInConstruction

Meet Tammy, a valued member of RLW for 14 months as a skilled 'Truck Driver 1'. She finds joy in witnessing daily progress on project sites while driving.🚧 Having grown up around construction, Tammy understands the challenges of long days and hard work, but she believes the rewards make it all worthwhile! She appreciates the inclusivity of the #ConstructionIndustry, where gender doesn't affect how she's treated despite its male-dominated nature.
