The Skyway Bridge is the longest bridge in Colorado at two miles in length carrying commuter trains through north metropolitan Denver. Constructed with 64 spans and 63 piers, the foundation includes drilled shafts that are 50-foot in depth and range from 8- to 9.5-feet in diameter. At its highest point, the Skyway Bridge is nearly 50-feet above grade and crosses 11 transportation corridors, including I-270, BNSF and UPRR track, and waterways. This project also included the construction of four other rail bridges.
