This project is a CMGC project for UTA (Utah Transit Authority). RLW is a CMGC partner with Stacy and Witbeck / Kiewit Joint Venture. The project that is slated to be completed in 2010. RLW’s portion of the work consists of 2 Bridge Structures and a UPRR maintenance facility building. The Roper Yard Flyover is a 780 foot long steel girder structure that will allow the West Valley Light Rail line to run from downtown Salt Lake to West Valley City Hall.
The Flyover is located in the UPRR Roper rail yard and will cross 15 sets of tracks. The girders will be the largest steel girders fabricated for use in the state of Utah.
The 600 West structure is a 132 foot steel girder bridge over 600 West near the Roper Yard and is also part of the West Valley Light Rail line.
The UPRR Maintenance facility building relocates the existing UPRR building. The existing UPRR building is being relocated so that Pier 2 of the Roper Flyover can be constructed.
