This project will be a complete replacement of existing 511’, 7-span structure with new 511’, 5-span structure. Bridge extends over a single Union Pacific Rail Road line, 2 Saint Maries River Rail Road lines, and the Plummer Creek. Project will incorporate an intensive MOT/Traffic Signals plan to allow for two phase construction of new structure without closure of SH-5. Project also includes Mechanically Stabilized Earth walls, drilled shafts, installation of H-pile, temporary soil nail retaining walls, roadway construction and paving, drainage improvements, installation of guardrail and barrier, and signing and striping. Project will work closely with the Coeur d’Alene Indian Tribe as the project is located on a tribal reservation.
On-site pre-casting of various precast elements including girders, pier and abutment caps, and pier columns.
7’ diameter drilled shafts in bedrock with 40,000 psi strengths.
Aggressive project schedule to deliver project by November 1, 2015.
Access in and around site coordinating with railroads, and the environmental sensitive area of the Plummer Creek.
