The Midland Drive project is a $9 million project with the Utah Department of Transportation Region 1. The project consists of 1.25 miles of urban reconstruction, and Portland Cement Concrete Pavement. The project began in December of 2014 and is scheduled to be complete at the end of this year.
Major challenges early in the project were replacing water lines for 3 different organizations, along with significant 3rd party utility work by 4 utility companies.
Being an urban street, public involvement and maintaining access to homes and businesses has added to the complexity.
When complete, this section of Midland Drive will have 2 lanes in each direction, center turn lanes, shoulders and bike lanes, along with curb, gutter and sidewalk.
Project Manager is Betty Purdie, and Construction Manager is Derek Harames
