This $985,000 project involved the rehabilitation of 2 bridges on a fast track schedule of just 54 days between May and July of 2015.
Construction tasks included a total of 6 expansion joints and 8 closure pours were removed and replaced, including all applicable parapet walls. All asphalt was removed and the areas of the bridge deck that had delaminated concrete was removed and replaced. Waterproof membrane was applied to the bridge decks and the decks had a new layer of asphalt and wear course applied. Followed up with applicable traffic striping. The substructure required repairs to bent caps, pedestals and columns. New signage in the project vicinity were replaced. Traffic control on the interstate and railroad flagging by UPRR and UTA while working in the railroad right-of-way was part of this project.
