Front Runner South- 2008

This project is a UTA CMGC project that extends the Front Runner North project 45 miles from downtown Salt Lake to Provo. RLW is working in conjunction with CRC, a Stacy and Witbeck Inc. / Herzog Joint Venture. RLW’s portion of work consists of approximately 30 various bridges for UTA and UPRR, 642 foot long Flyover Bridge Structure, 2 soil nail retaining walls, a box culvert, concrete lined canal, and a challenging concrete pedestrian underpass / train station located in Lehi.

The flyover incorporates 6 each 10 foot diameter drilled shafts, 2 of the shafts are 130 in depth. The structure also utilizes 2 straddle bents with post tensioning tendons.

Many of the structures will utilize box beam girders that will help RLW to meet the rigorous construction schedule that this project demands. RLW is working in very closely with the general contractor and the designers to help with constructability design and construction means and methods to help complete this project by the end of 2011.
