After we began the excavation portion of the project we suggested to the owner that with a redesign and some Value Engineering they could get more parking spaces and use the ramp for Phase 1 and a potential Phase 2. We turned the project 90 to accommodate these changes. We found several old buildings as we progressed with the excavation.
This project has given 600 + spaces to the area which was greatly needed. We completed this project and are looking forward to doing Phase 2 of the project when the need arises.
We won 2 awards for this project; the first one was Concrete Construction and Design- Most Outstanding Project Concrete Structures from Utah Construction and Design Magazine and the second was from the AGC Project Manager of the Year- Building and Industrial from the Associated General Contractors of Utah. This was because of a team effort of RLW and its employees and the sub-contractors that worked diligently on the project.
