Appropriately named, the Ball Park Apartments and parking structure sits across the street from the baseball park in Salt Lake City. It is 14,000 SF of a ground level parking structure with an additional 5 stories of wood framed apartments above. The podium slab provides the base for apartments above.
Ball Park presented a unique challenge in that the building covered the entire construction site, leaving no room for a lay-down yard or area for building of forms and the necessity of sharing all building space with the excavator as work progressed.
The scope of the $761,000 project consisted of footings, foundation and shear walls, columns, slab on grade and the post tensioned podium deck. Work began in April of 2015 and achieved substantial completion of the podium slab in July.
