Authority

·        To conduct safety inspections on all jobs

·        To terminate employees, per our policy, who do not adhere to our safety program

·        Purchase safety supplies per the approved Safety Budget

·        Correspond with Owners, Insurance Companies & Subcontractors as needed

·        Conduct Safety Meeting

 

Responsibilities

·        Coordinate worksite safety activities

·        Develop and enforce safety rules

·        Monthly report to Safety Manager on safety inspections and accidents

·        Advise management on safety issues

·        Conduct safety meetings

·        Develop plans for emergency situations

·        Discuss safety issues in superintendent mtg. and staff mtg.

·        Analyze worksite safety needs

·        Timely investigation of accidents, file claims and coordinate Safety Manager, take pictures and witness statements, follow up on general liability and workers compensation claims, and evaluate loss run reports

·        Determine safety goals and objectives

·        Conduct job safety analyses

·        Establish and maintain good working relationships with UDOT, OSHA, UPRR, UTA, owners and subcontractors

·        Classify injuries and illnesses so HR can implement return to work plan

·        Conduct safety inspections and audits, work site inspections and scores for each superintendent

·        Train employees in safety aspects of their jobs

·        Discipline for unsafe behaviors, track safety bonus incentives program, write up employee notices

·        Analyze injury and illness patterns, identify false claims

·        Provide safety resource information

·        Develop safe operating procedures, from monitoring job sites

·        Initiate safety plans and programs, training for all terrain fork lifts, man lifts, scissor lifts, crane safety, respirator training and fit, etc.

·        Develop relationship with outside groups, attend AGC safety committee mtg. , have working relationship with other safety managers

·        Conduct safety orientation for new hires

·        Inspect job site MSDS books and insure that they are current and at each job site

·        Purchase PPE safety equipment as needed

·        Review Equipment Safety Inspection log and make sure they are current

·        Report on loss time accidents and incidents

·        Conduct drug testing, log results, provide second chance policy follow up

·        Help implement EEO policy

·        Ensure all job site bulletin boards are complete

·        Help out with phones, purchase, maintenance and repair

·        Follow through with all OSHA inspections and citations

·        Take photos and file to each job

·        Attend training seminars to comply with insurance company requirements
