The work included installation of a sheet-pile type shoring system for the construction of a utility tunnel connecting BYU’s new Broadcast Building to its central heat plant. Over 53,000 square feet of braced and cantilever sheet-pile was installed and removed to facilitate the tunnel’s construction. Work occurred in the middle of BYU’s campus during the ongoing school year. As a result, the working space was limited, and schedule and safety concerns were paramount. Close coordination was required to ensure that the project was completed on-time and with minimal impact to BYU’s daily operations, functions and events. Ralph Wadsworth Constructions work was constructed ahead of Schedule and on time.
