SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, July 19 -- Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction Company Inc. (Wadsworth), a builder of high-profile bridges and overpasses in the Intermountain West, was awarded two 2005 Best of State awards last month. Each year the Best of State Awards recognize outstanding achievement of individuals, organizations and businesses in Utah.
Wadsworth was awarded a Best of State medal in the Business Services: Commercial Construction category, while Tod L. Wadsworth, a Senior Vice-President of the Company was awarded a medal in the Arts & Entertainment: Sculpture category. Wadsworth was judged on the overall quality and excellence of its products and services, financial and operational performance, innovation in its techniques and processes and its contribution to improving the quality of life in Utah.
Kip L. Wadsworth, President and CEO of Wadsworth said, “We’re very pleased to have been awarded these Best of State awards. For the last 30 years our goal has been to provide quality workmanship for our customers and give back to the communities where we work.”
Commenting on his brother’s award in the Sculpture category, Mr. Wadsworth continued, “As a company we’re proud of Tod for his award. Tod’s concrete sculpture work has become the signature of a Wadsworth project. Tod tries to integrate community themes or historical features into his freeway or bridge artwork murals, which makes the commuter’s drive just a little less hectic.”
