In the Summer of 2009 RLW will replace a 60 year old timber bridge that crosses the PortneufRiver a few miles northeast of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. The 62 foot long timber bridge will be removed in two stages to minimize traffic delays and road closures. The new bridge will be 83 feet long and 12 feet wider than the old bridge and constructed with prestressed concrete girders and precast pile caps to help accelerate the construction process. Special provisions will be made to ensure that the existing mountainous environment and river will not be disturbed of its natural beauty.
