Kip Wadsworth, President & CEO

Kip Wadsworth has served as President & CEO since 2002. During his tenure, the Company’s market share has dramatically increased; especially in the areas of Design-Build, CMGC and Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC). In this atmosphere of growth and development, Kip achieves success by closely listening to the Company's clients and incorporating innovative and current industry techniques into its daily operations. His strategic planning methods and insistence on quality and integrity has positioned RLW as one of the Intermountain West’s premier contractors for design-build, CMGC, heavy highway bridge construction and ABC, as well as pile driving, commercial building and other specialty projects.

Under Kip's tenure, RLW has instituted a Management Action Program discipline benefiting all areas of the company that focuses on quality assurance, safety, employee retention and training. This highly effective program has resulted in an overall contractor performance rating of 93% and a 95% jobsite safety inspection rating.

Kip is continually searching for new and innovative products and services to bring to the market. His visionary management style established the design-build, CMGC and piling driving disciplines for RLW. Kip's plans for RLW's future include adding new specialty fields to capitalize on the knowledge of the company's expert staff and to better serve its customers.

Kip is well known for his integrity and standing behind the company's products and employees. He is well respected at all levels of the RLW organization and within the construction industry as a whole.

Kip has learned all aspects of the construction industry and the operations at RLW since 1980, starting at the bottom and working his way to the top. This success path has given him valuable insight to provide project leadership in estimating, bidding, scheduling and construction and to insure delivery of quality projects for RLW customers.

Con Wadsworth, General Manager

Con Wadsworth is passionate about big projects. As Vice President of Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction Company, Con’s main goal is to position the firm as the #1 design-build contractor for heavy highway projects. He has served as the Deputy Project Manager and Principal-on-Site for the Utah Department of Transportation’s 12300 South Design-Build project and Project Manager for SR-201 Design-Build project. Con enjoys the daily challenges of design-build and is successful in this arena from years of experience in heavy highway construction and overall project management.

Con’s strengths in estimating and scheduling have contributed to much of the success of RLW. He served as Project Manager on four UDOT projects that were completed ahead of schedule – University Parkway Interchange, Kimball Junction Interchange, Bangerter Highway Interchange and Redwood Road from 6600 South to 7600 South.

In addition, Con’s expertise in traffic control design and implementation has positioned RLW as a premier contractor in heavy highway construction especially on more difficult projects and interchange projects. He has successfully designed traffic control plans for interchange reconstructions with no ramp closures throughout the project. He understands the dynamic nature of traffic control and that plans need to respond quickly to changes on the jobsite.

Since 1976 Con has held nearly every kind of position at RLW. He brings pride of ownership to each project. In addition to construction, Con is very effective making presentations at public meetings and working one-on-one with citizens and special interest groups affected by construction projects.

Tod Wadsworth, Business Development Manager

As a Vice President of Pile Driving Operations for Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction Company, Tod Wadsworth has spent the past few years successfully launching and overseeing the pile driving and shoring disciplines of the company in addition to managing the water tank construction operations and designing and installing the RLW aesthetic features on many of their projects.

Both the pile driving and water tank disciplines have grown under Tod’s direction. Tod is able to incorporate cost saving techniques on a variety of shoring projects based on his knowledge of construction and commitment to his clients. He is continually drawing on his past experience looking for value engineering concepts to build better projects.

Quality is one of RLW’s signatures and Tod is cognizant of this on each project. In addition to understanding all aspects of construction the company has to offer, Tod’s original mural designs and artistic features can be seen on many structures throughout Utah. He especially enjoys the design-build aspect of aesthetic treatments in designing a conceptual theme, creating the vision for the client and the casts for the concrete pour, to the final coloring on the jobsite.

Tod is an excellent communicator and is very comfortable making public presentations about his projects as well as working closely with citizens who are impacted by construction projects.

Tod’s approach to each project is efficiency combined with quality craftsmanship for a happy customer. He enjoys the challenge of each and every project; from start to finish. His passion lies in seeing a finished project and appreciating the quality of the concrete finish, the elegant simplicity of the design or the intricacies of the structural erection.

Ty Wadsworth, Operations Manager

Ty Wadsworth brings the pride and dedication of ownership to every project he manages. As a Vice President of Field Operations for Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction Company, Ty oversees all the construction projects from the field. While he is knowledgeable in every facet of construction, Ty especially enjoys the opportunities and challenges of the design-build process. His success in this area comes from working closely with the project owner and the project team in addition to his vast background in scheduling, estimating and construction. Being involved in the design and construction allows Ty the opportunity to apply cost saving construction techniques at the start of the project as well as complete projects faster than under more traditional methods.

Ty is also extremely knowledgeable in concrete applications and steel erection. He has the reputation of a detail-oriented and analytical project manager with a strong emphasis on the overall quality of the project. Ty joined the RLW team in 1985 and gained extensive experience in interchange construction, cast-in-place concrete bridges, concrete paving and pedestrian bridges.
